This week's been pretty intense thanks to the lovely place I spend most of my day, which incase you don't know, can't guess or have never read my blog before, that place is my highschool Garin College. Anyway, so more than half of the year is officially over which basically means my years of NCEA and highschool are almost over forever! (Well, unless I completely bomb and have to repeat the year or something.) I should be sad but... right now I'm not. I'll miss my friends but I'll never miss the place and the boring, ridiculous amounts of work giving. Plus there are some pretty shocking staff members and the place is run appallingly, so the sooner I get out of there the better.
Alright so let's recap the one good thing that did happen this week, and that was the ingenious idea that I, myself (aka. Joseph Robert Sauer), thought of. That thought was... a surprise 18th party for my good friend Robert Gunn! Well, not so much a party, but let me explain.
This week at school was the first week of Term 3, as we had just had a two week holiday - and Rob was depressed cause he'd been sick for basically the entire second week of the holidays and they had been wasted and he was lonely and miserable so I was thinking... how the christ could I cheer him up? So being the nicest, most thoughtful and should-be-more-valued friend ever I thought "Holy cunt! Why don't we have a surprise party?" Well, because I live in a small shack held up by sticks perched precariously on a hill I figured that my house wouldn't ideal for the get-together, so I instead organised to get everyone to go to Cafe Affair in town and it has an upstairs bit with a big long table that everyone could be waiting at to yell "Surprise!" and all that jazz.
Anyway, so the day before Rob's birthday, Thursday, Rianna and I went to Oscar's house and met his friend from The United Arab Emirates, Katie, and we (aka. not me) made a chocolate 'red wine' cake to bring to the cafe the next day, which we asked to make sure it was all G and stuff. Well Oscar did, so that's why I can't take all the credit for the whole shindig, although I feel I should. It was also another girl called Lauren's 18th birthday and she was invited so we couldn't completely ignore her, so when Rianna left, Katie, Oscar and I headed to town to find some presents for them. CBF explaining what they got, but they were cheap enough + still made them happy, or fake-happy - whatever, I was impressed enough with their response.
So on Friday, Rob was under the impression that I was 'taking him out for birthday coffee' which sounds shady now that I think of it. I (illegally, what... a bad boy) went and picked up Rob from his house & took him to town (ugh, the petrol wasted!) and took him into the café and after about a year the waitress finally took our goddamn order of two drinks and then we went up the stairs, with Rob first, and there everyone was and... "SURPRISE!".
He fucking loved it.
So yeah, you get the picture - it was sexy. Uh, you're welcome Robert. Now it's my birthday next Saturday, 18 and god forsaken last. Feel free to send me presents. Thank you.
