18 and Free... Except Not

Had a good 18th Birthday on Saturday, hung with Brandon & Nathan in town for the late morning and afternoon, hit the gym (like a sensible 18 year old should - it was a light workout) and than went to dinner in Tahuna @ '623 on the Rocks', not very impressed with that place - won't be going there again any time soon. It was a combined dinner party because my friend Amy Moffat also celebrated her 18th on the same day, and we have pretty much all the same friends which is handy.

Dinner kind of sucked anyway, so appreciative of my friends that did come, but so many couldn't for one reason or another. No Nick, Rob, Ashleigh, Natalie, Lydia - sucked. These are the people I typically spend all my time with, well, not Lydia so much - but she's cool.

Went to town afterwards with Lauren & Amy (NO ONE else came on my 18th. Seriously! I have no friends that care.) and had some drinks at a girl from Garin last year's, Bernie's, flat by town. (Grammar is fucked up there, I know, tell someone that cares. ie. my English & Media teachers) Good to dance in town and stuff but had NOT drunken enough and was practically sober dancing like a loon in a sweaty crowd.

This week's been pretty miserable, 'specially today as found out some miserable news, well actually I found out yesterday afternoon but it doesn't make it any more nicer. A year 9 girl, Michaela Menzies, died (hate the term "passed away") & today at school was, as to be expected, miserable and depressing. What I don't like is high & mighty people that think just because you're not crying and making a fuss that you're not sad. I'm not really a big crier with deaths, and have been feeling pretty weird lately - just unemotional and kinda plain. Hard to explain. Guess that's what being single & miserable while being bombarded by every direction from school feels like. Anyway, it's especially sad for me because her older sister Alex Menzies is in my year and she's a great girl (I blogged about her a few times like, last year) so I'll be keeping her & her family in my thoughts, not my prayers because the only thing Catholicism does is promote discrimination and hypocrisy.

Just deleted a big portion about my school was because it was very negative & I need to suck the school's balls to get a good testimonial to get into University... then and only then will the negative juices begin to flow again!

Still pissed off at Oscar, my "friend", who stole my Arts Captain position from me and therefore will glide on into university while I suffer and probably get rejected for 'having no head roles', the fact I'm better than everyone else is relevant. (Clearly, I'm beyond the point of caring how my ego must sound. The truth isn't always that egotistical.)

The facts are, I wouldn't be slagging off my school for no reason - and trust me, 'voicing an opinion' gets you in trouble at Garin. So does asking the religion teacher about dinosaurs.
