Not everything that can be measured matters, and.....
Not everything that matters can be measured.
Albert Einstein
We have lots of statistics being thrown around these days. They come from the cooking of real facts that the Left want to hide, and that the Right wants to make a lot worse than they are.
For example, when is the National Debt big enough to inspire the crash so many Conservatives predict? When Conservatives are in office, like Reagan, they run the debt up just as mindlessly as the Left.
On the other hand, how can you measure a peaceful day? We had one in Texas just now. It came with about 6 inches of rain, which we needed. We are stuck indoors and going weird, but we are delighted that the latest drought is over. So, how do we rate or measure this day?

Weeeeellllllllllllll-- Since I wrote that last paragraph I was interrupted by a crisis.
Water was getting into the garage where we have stored a lot of things. The precious junk had to be lifted up off the floor in a hurry. The worst rain of the hurricane that came in from the Gulf happens to be right over us, and the driveway is washing out.
So, how do you measure that. It would seem it matters. I guess it will be measured in how many dollars it costs for a load of gravel to re-do the driveway.
This is Texas :-)
Praise the Lord anyway.

Later-- the Internet was down on the 7th when I went to post this. That is how heavy the rain is-- keeping me from connecting with the tower.
