I have always loved Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova, the Russian duo that form the band t.A.T.u. Their album "200km/h in the Wrong Lane" was the first album I ever owned in my entire life and I was obsessed with their debut single "All The Things She Said", which has gone on to become an internationally acclaimed gay anthem as a result of the lyrics and the pair's supposed lesbian relationship.
However, after releasing two albums (the second being "Dangerous & Moving") it was revealed they were actually not lesbians and that it was a marketing ploy, however the girls later went on to admit they regretted lying to their fans and still wished to uphold the messages sung about as it was still something they believed in.
They also were the focus of a film starring Mischa Barton (The O.C.) called "Finding t.A.T.u." and I'm not too sure if it's been officially released yet. All I know is that Mischa flunked on the premiere and it got no press. Sad stuff, love t.A.T.u.!
