I'm in a complaining sort of a mood, shockingly, and have only just realised how much I miss some very basic things from home. Obviously I don't have the hardest life in the world, but it has it's own restrictions and although small, they're beginning to drive me a tad insane.
First and foremost, I really miss TV. I used to watch it every day. I love it, and I know it's bad for you, unproductive and whatever but... I loved it. Loved my shows, 'Desperate Housewives', 'Keeping up with the Kardashian', 'E! News', 'Chelsea Lately' - ugh, so good. I also really miss couches, I haven't sat comfortable on a good couch for almost two months and my back's feeling it. Haven't managed to have a good day of relaxation in too long. I always remember this one news headline from a year or two ago and the presenter said with a really disgusted manner that a "shocking study has revealed children spent on average three to four hours a day watching television", well I watched about 6-8, so suck it. Alright, well maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but I definitely did the 3-4, not all one go but I loved me some TV. The internet's cute, but I'm way too over-connected with a ridiculous amount of social networks and so-called 'obligations' (e-mails, forum posts, tweets -- can't have people unfollowing!
I miss regular food (muesli bars, cereal, milk etc.) that I don't have to think about and pay my own hard-earnt dimes on. Going to be so good to go home, gorge on whatever I want and just... chill. I'm so pulling out the old Playstation 2, really wanna play some Final Fantasy VIII & X, heck, maybe even X-2 just for the LOLs. I never did actually manage to get the good or perfect ending of X-2, only ever saw it on Youtube. God those games' stories need be made into movies, I think people would be in disbelief of how much depth a game can get into! So emotional! Then again I guess you spend a lot more time in a game getting to know and understanding characters, it's kinda like reading a book but with visuals and dialogue. Either way, FFX (and X-2 to a slightly nostalgic degree) is an emotional game, but I still like FFVIII just that slightest bit more. I must sound like the biggest geek, but whatever - I love gaming, but in all truth I hardly ever do it these days. Apart from the occasional Plants vs. Zombies, which I barely even play now, I don't really do any gaming. Played some internet checkers the other day, I kept losing so I got pissed and quit half way through a game with a guy who obviously had some good strategies. I seriously don't have any talents, and I'd love to spruce up the standard of this blog but I really can't be bothered and my vocab's a joke, so that's not about to happen. Pretty sure this paragraph breaks some sort of grammatical rule about the length of paragraphs. Oh dear, how sad, nevermind.
I miss my dog, leaving her was a big sacrifice of coming to Wellington. I miss Ashleigh and Brandon cause they rock and I miss... alright I don't miss my old job at Briscoes, but it was a handy, reliable job for me and I held it for two years and it was just convenient. I'd kill for a job at the Wellington store but they said they didn't need any more employees, even though I did ring like 6 months in advance to tell them I'd be coming... *sigh* Well, if any Wellington central retail needs a kick-ass weekend worker - lemme know!
Well, time to go finish watching the second 'Matrix' film - god they're ingenious, and have never sat down and watched the trilogy properly - analysed the first one in Media in year 12 so pretty sure I've got that one knuckled down in my understanding. Have a nice evening/day/whatever everyone. I was going to go out tonight but no one else is going out and this ridiculously boring place has quiet hours from 9pm this week, basically meaning we're kicked out at 9pm if we're drinking and making a racket. Well, even if you're not making a racket, which I never am cause I don't usually get rowdy when I drink, but I can get excited I guess on the odd-occasion. aka. the occasion that never comes.
P.S. Anyone that takes offence when I call them a "dumb bitch" needs to a) get over themselves and b) realise that's just a staple in my vocab. Deal.
