Movie Review: Tomorrow, When The War Began

Yesterday I went and saw "Tomorrow, When The War Began" for the second time because I loved it so much the first time and I have this to say. It is my official favorite movie of all time. I love it so much and I couldn't recommend it any more highly to anyone!

I really thought the acting was pretty impressive (cause it is not your typical kind of movie, it's teenagers in a war!), the dialogue was quite cute and IDK, I was just obsessed with the books and I found the movie to be a really good representation of the characters, well, except for Robyn. She was a bit annoying and quite different to the character in the book, but still, she was a fairly good remake and the actress still did a good job conveying the "new" character.

I love the storyline, plot and characters in this series so much and John Marsden, the author of the books, has a terrific mind! Maybe I also like this movie because it's set (and filmed) in Australia, which is close and pretty similar to New Zealand, therefore it's easy to relate to I guess. My English teacher would cry if she saw this film review, BUT, she'll get over it cause I hate formal writing. A lot.

Celebrity of the Week: Caitlin Stasey

Caitlin Stasey is an Australian actress, best none for starring in the show "Neighbours" but the reason she's my Celebrity of the Week is because she is the star of my new favourite movie ever. "Tomorrow When The War Began" is literally the best movie I have seen in so long, possibly ever, although I will admit this is because my attachments to the books in which it's based on. John Marsden, who wrote them, is amazing and this is by far my favourite book series of all time! Much preferred over Harry Potter and such, sorry, although Lord of the Rings does come close ish... but only because of some of the romantic elements of it.
The Tomorrow series trumps them all though and I reckon Caitlin did an amazing job as Ellie Linton, the main character, and the entire cast was amazing and really fucking sexy! Robyn had a bit of a weird portrayal as she was supposed to be quite fit and sort of religious, but not too bad - but in the film she's a bit chubby, short and PAINFULLY religious and annoying and it just drove me insane. However, she turned out to be a good reinvented character and I loved it! Really amazing movie and FAR better than "Inception" which, although good, was overrated.

I LOVE THE TOMORROW SERIES! GO AND SEE THIS MOVIE!

Tomorrow, When The War Began

The "Tomorrow" series, for which the blockbuster movie was made from, has long been my favourite series of books ever. Honest to God, I enjoyed them more than Harry Potter which is saying a lot because I loved them heaps too. Can't believe the last ever movie is coming out in a few months or whatever, and that's pretty much Harry Potter all wrapped up forever. Sad, it was (and is) such a huge phenomenon, I hope people enjoy it in the future as much as I did when I was younger.

Anyway, here's the trailer for the "Tomorrow, When The War Began" movie which isn't quite how I pictured it in my head, but it never is when someone makes a film out of a book - that's probably why books are better than movies, things are how you want them to be and not just how they're shown. You can't really have your own opinions with a movie, unless it has stupid missing parts of the plots, like the end of "Inception" which in my opinion meant that Leo (forgot his character's name) was in reality. God knows how he got back into reality, but whatever, I'd need to study that movie closely to really get what the F was going on.

So basically the point of this post is to remind everyone I loved the Tomorrow series before you did!! HATE when things you have loved for ages become popular and everyone loves them, but I must say, John Marsden deserves all the recognition in the world because these books are ridiculously well written and his ideas are ingenious.

P.S. You can click on the label underneath this to see my blogging about the book series ages ago.
