Rev. Terry Jones, the Koran burning preacher in Gainsville, Florida, is a 24 karat nut case-- there is no doubt about that. A search of Google will turn up plenty of evidence that he is. He needs to join the Hall of Infamy with Muamar Ghadaffi, Idi Imin, and Jim Jones. I would not be at all shocked if he and his congregation drank the Kool Aid on Saturday after burning the Korans.
To many Bible believers, it will be impossible to understand how one billion Muslims could go insanely mad about one fruit loop we have no control over. It is time to learn about Islam, dear reader.
The reaction of Islam all around the world teaches us things:
1. Islam and its leaders do not provide for dealing with mad men. They would never react this way if some Imam in the Middle East decided to burn Bibles. That would be cool. So, they are making it very clear that Islam has no spiritual and rational strength. Its strength is in the virtual paper of a book. Burn a pile of Bibles, and the Christian faith will prevail and go forward. We have printing presses (or, at least the Chinese have them), and a big pile of Bibles will be at the end of the aisle of Wal-Mart the Monday morning after anyone burns a pile of Bibles.
2. Muslim leaders refuse to obey Muhammed. They are blaming all Christians for the actions of one alleged Christian, and Muhammed forbade that:Muhammad said, “ Should you become eager to mention another’s faults, recall your own. “ (Ar-Rafi)
He also said: “O you who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of any people make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do. ” [Sûrah al-Mâ'idah: 8]
Modern Muslims have no ability to single out one "kaffir" (Infidel) from the masses and treat him as a single human being. They are arrogantly disobeying Muhammed in the Hadith above.
What did Muhammed think of Christians? Let him answer in the Koran itself:
The Koran, Sura 5:82: “And you will find the nearest of them in affection to those (Muslims) who believe (to be) those who say: 'We are Christians. That is because there are among them priests and monks, and because they are not proud."
It sounds like Muhammed could be invited to join the Ministerial Association of any American city, right? Well, Muhammed was a schizophrenic prophet. Here is what he said later:
“Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and the Polytheists, will be thrown in hellfire, to dwell therein. They are the worst of creatures." Sura 98:6
So, you can see that Islam swings back and forth, depending on what century they live in, trying to love and hate Christians.
So, when an alleged Christian preacher, a mental midget, goes mad and tries to burn the Koran, Muslims have two options-- One, decide all the other Christians who do not approve of the burning are the good people, and drop the matter-- or, Two, declare worldwide Jihad against all Christians. Both options are open to all Muslims according to Muhammed.
We have not been served well by Rev. Terry Jones, and I have made it clear that he is NOT doing anything that pleases our Lord. (See previous blog) But, Jones has brought out the mad dog factor in Islam by his folly.
Thus, we see that one mad dog in the USA can cast one stone at Islam, and the whole billion of them will become as mad as he is. This is indeed instructive. Sad, but a teaching moment.
One more lesson to true Bible believers--
If you want to witness to Muslims, you better learn to treat your physical copy of the Word of God with deep respect. Never place it on the floor.... better to place it above waist height. Do not hand a copy of your Bible to a Muslim if you have marked it all up and made notes in the margins. I know that this is understood by your Christian friends, but the Muslim will think you have desecrated your own holy book. Why should he take you seriously?
NEVER say any of these Dallas Seminary agnostic things like, "This is a poor rendering...." or "This verse may not have been in the original Greek...." Such arrogant deprecations of your Bible will result in the Muslim shucking you off. He will conclude you don't really believe you have the infallible Word of God after all.
Also, use only ONE version of the Bible. There is only one version of the Koran in Arabic, which is considered the perfect language. Use the King James Version only. It is classical English, and the Koran is in classical Arabic. The elevated language of the KJV will cause the Muslim to have more reverence for your Bible.
Finally, if you have a Koran to use to compare with the Bible, be SURE it is new and well kept. No, you do not believe it, but the Muslim will despise you for degrading the Koran. Also, if you want to mark places in the Koran, do not write in it-- put paper book marks in it with notes on them to help find texts you want to deal with.
Finally, if you want to witness to Muslims, you must get a Koran to prove to them that you have read it and found problems in it. If you don't have a Koran, the Muslim will claim that you don't know what you are talking about. You can probably get a nice copy of the Koran by going around to the nearest mosque, and ask for one.
It may well be that out of this performance by this moron in Florida the Spirit of God will use many Christians to talk to Muslims about what true Christianity is.
