The Queen's Rocks and Afghanistan

__

I grew up in Africa in Kanya and Tanzania which were both part of the British Empire. When you walked up a path to any school, or you drove around a British colonial government compound, all the roads and paths were lined with parallel lines of rocks.

These rocks were all about the size of a loaf of bread, and they were painted with bright white lime. When the paint got dirty, an African civil servant was assigned the task of repainting them.

Now, if an African made the mistake of moving or stealing one of the white rocks, he was told, "Those are the Queen's rocks." This was the case with Queen Elizabeth II, but it all started under the reign of Queen Victoria in the 1800s. All over the great British Empire, the Queen had white rocks along all her official paths and roads. What other world leader can make that claim.

When my father built a middle school, he was required, by the British Empire code for schools, to line the driveway to the school, and all the paths of the school, with white rocks. Once he painted them, he could not move them, nor could any students. The long arm of Queen Victoria, though long dead, would reach into the 1950s and claim her rocks.

Now, this is power, my friend.

Think of Queen Victoria, and later, Queen Elizabeth, sitting on the big official chair they give her with her cute hat on with all the diamonds and rubies in it, basking it the knowledge that millions of white rocks strike fear into the hearts of untold numbers of her subjects. I cannot think of a more benign and harmless way to conquer the world. Just paint the rocks, and voile, you own that acre!

Well, I was wondering if this would be a cheaper way to make our imperial claim on the gas lines and opium trade in Afghanistan. Could we simply rig up helicopters with paint sprayers, and paint the rocks of Afghanistan. Would that be cheaper then shooting up weddings and massacring opium farmers?

I don't think so. Watch this video, and you may understand the shooting bullets is probably a lot cheaper than painting all the rocks in Afghanistan.

Sherman Williams would love it if painting rocks white would win this war.

Is it worth it?

I have mixed emotions. This war is very expensive, and the USA is way over its head in debt. In that regard, no, it is not worth it. We will not keep Afghanistan. No nation in world history has taken and kept Afghanistan. Many have tried.

BUT, I was blessed to see US soldiers, standing in a Muslim nation, praying before an action, and praying "in Jesus Name, Amen." If Obama and our national leaders are too blasted wimpy to pray in the name of Jesus, our soldiers are NOT. AND, they are praying in a Muslim nation while Obama prays to Allah in America.

God knows the righteous, and he knows their hearts, and he will blast the wicked into oblivion:

Psalms 16:4 (KJV) Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

Psalms 9:16 (KJV) The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
19 Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
20 Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

Who are the wicked?
