Lunging Stretch - Warrior Pose (Virabhadrasana)

Bring the right foot in front forming a pose similar to running, by forming a 90 degree angle at the calve muscle and the thigh muscles. The right knee is directly below the right foot. The back knee of the left knee and the hip of the body is lowered but not touching the ground but the foot of the left foot is on the floor.

What are the benefits of Virabhadrasana I?

The warrior pose  provides strength to the ankles, legs, shoulders and muscles of the back. It also tones and strengthens the abdomen. It Improves balance and posture and energizes the entire body.

Cautions
This asana should not be practiced if have recent or chronic injury to the hips, knees, back or shoulders.
