Has it ever occurred to you that every nation with an ancient history is always proud of what is left of that ancient civilization? I always ask myself why are we always proud of what our ancestors did, but on the other hand we never do anything that will make our descendants proud of us one day.
Maybe the things we do now and seem normal to us will be something special four thousand years from now to our great great great grandchildren, because I don't think that the Pharaohs or the Aztecs or the Phoenix or the Babylon or the Samurai thought that what they did was extraordinary. No, it is their everyday life is what fascinates us.
After all that, I find it difficult to say that four of five thousand years later people will be amazed by the architecture of my grave or house the same way that we are amazed by the pyramids of Egypt which are graves of ancient kings, or will they be inspired by any garden that appears to us beautiful these days the way we think about the hanging gardens of Babylon which we always talk about as the extreme of garden layout art.
Is it that we are afraid to reach the extreme limits of creation the way our ancestors did or is it that we have more important things to worry about or is it that we just do not have a civilization that can be a part of the next history books or is it that we are not as smart as humans used to be or do we understand the limits of our needs and concentrate on more important things that are more useful to us.
