The Six Nations Tournament

The current 6 Nations Championship is the result of a long historical rugby relationship starting in Britain.
Originally you wouldn't purchase 6 Nations Tickets but instead you would have been going to see the Home Nations Tournament which was originally between Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England, this competition was played yearly from 1883 up until 1909 when it was decided that France would join to make up the 5 Nations Championship so you still wouldn't yet be at the stage of asking for 6 nations tickets.
The Five Nations Championship lasted from 1910 until 1931 when France were no longer allowed to play in the tournament due to accusations of professionalism within the French league teams, rugby in these days was strictly an amateur sport. As a result of this things went back as they were and the Home Nations Championships resumed through the period 1932 to 1939 when France were invited to rejoin to once again make it the 5 Nations Championship. Due to the war there was little rugby played until 1946 but the 5 Nations stayed in existence and was played yearly right up until the year 2000 when Italy were allowed to join making the competition what we call today the 6 Nations Championship.
Rugby has become so popular over the years that tickets are very often hard to come by these days, and the price of them has made it so that not everybody can afford to watch the games as they did in yesteryear. That said the addition of Italy has helped to make some 6 Nations Tickets more easily attainable as some people feel that they are not as competitive as other teams meaning that quite often reasonably prices 6 Nations Tickets can sometimes be available.
Other countries have expressed an interest in joining the 6 Nations over the years including Georgia, Romania and Argentina who have now agreed to join the Tri Nations from 2012 which will no doubt make them into a force to be reckoned with in the not too distant future.
