Summer is really here. If there was any doubt (it’s like 40·C here during the day), Kaz Gamble of Gamble & Burke, is bringing us this catchy electro pop tune “Let Me In”.
Bridget Tucker is a new electro-pop artist with a sound that mixes the shimmery side of Gwen Stefani with the cutesy candy coated hooks of early Madonna.
Gamble discovered the vocalist at a Karaoke bar while vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine. You see dreams can still come true.
Bridget Tucker is a 23 year old elementary school teacher from Westminster, MA, a rural town in central Massachusetts once known for it's New England oyster crackers. "Let Me In" is her debut recording and it's lyrics are based on a true story of hers.
21 year-old Sunday Girl Jade Williams earned her stage-name thanks to the forgetful customers of the pet shop she worked in every Sunday as a 14 year-old. "No one ever knew what I was called; they just used to call me 'Sunday Girl' and that sort of stuck." But Sunday Girl doesn’t just make music for the weekend; she makes music for every day of the week. Far from a cookie-cutter created singer churned from the baking-machine of pop, she boasts music that is in turns enigmatic, individual and utterly epic. Building on the online hipster buzz of Four Floors, Sunday Girl is about post a cover of one her favourite ever tracks Self Control. Originally by RAF it was massive 80s Italo disco classic that later to became a huge hit stateside for Laura Branigan. Sunday Girl’s radical new version mixes a churning dance floor-friendly acidic production with Jade’s own wry pop delivery. Beautiful, thoughtful, intelligent and credible, with a sense of style and panache to match her tunes, Sunday Girl is offering a whole new creative sensibility to the world of music. A true individual, this Sunday girl clearly has no plans to rest just yet…

One of our contributors Mel, recently had the chance to interview Lady Phoenix for her blog. With her permission I’m posting this video to let you meet these three wonderful ladies.
Some of you might know them from back in the day the girl band Dream. Ashley Poole; Diana Ortiz and Melissa Shuman got back together and are now forming the girl band Lady Phoenix.
"...charging the stage later in the evening are rock squires Crash Kings... with an earth-shaking assault of sound, the brothers Beliveau and Jason Morris of Crash Kings make their move on the urban indie scene, wielding keyboards, a bass, and a drum kit in battle." – Jorge Barriere, Flavorpill LA
Highly tuneful, very aggressive, hard-hitting rock. Crash Kings take the three-man-band concept to their own unique level, quite often surpassing guitar-driven bands. When siblings and music collide it makes for what we so casually call “undeniable chemistry.” Channeling their passion, they create music so powerful it’s almost a crime—a crime that has been aided and abetted by nothing other than fate itself. Two brothers and one hard-hitting drummer come together to form an ivory-driven power trio firmly rooted in right here and right now; this is Crash Kings.
Crash Kings is made up of vocalist-keyboardist Tony Beliveau, his brother and bassist Mike, and drummer Jason Morris. They were formed in 2006 in Los Angeles, California and are signed to Linda Perry record label, Custard Records. Their self-titled debut album was released 26 May 2009 by Custard/Universal Motown. The album reached number 36 on Billboard's U.S. Top Heatseekers albums chart.
Their debut single Mountain Man was released 12 April 2009 for digital download, peaking at 21 on the US Alternative Songs and 41 on the US Rock Songs charts. The song reminds me of songs by The White Stripes. It is fresh and very listenable. The piano at the chorus is reminiscent of Train and I think fans of either band might like Crash Kings' music.
(Special mention: Their song 1985 is awesome!)
Crash Kings are ecstatic to announce their tour with Australian rockers JET. The North American trek will begin in Toronto, ON on March 5 at The Opera House. Crash Kings have previously toured with Chris Cornell, Stone Temple Pilots, The Bravery and Rooney. Their current single Mountain Man is currently #19 at Alternative Radio and the band will be showcasing at SXSW.
