Raising Malawi is an amazing cause that has received a fair share of publicity lately as a result of Madonna's e-mail to many regarding the imprisonment of two men, Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga - the Malawi couple sentenced to 14 years hard labor for the "crime" of homosexuality. I'm not sure how or why I was e-mailed regarding this, but I signed the online petition which received over 30,000 signatures and as a result - the men were freed by order of Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika.
A good cause and I'm not completely sure if Madonna had founded the charity or was just involved, but she did good work and it's a great site. All money donated, Madonna promises she will match it dollar for dollar - amazing!
