Yesterday afternoon, the weather was not appropriate for the 5000m to be conducted in Choa Chu Kang Stadium. The race officials, hence, decided to put the race today. At 4pm, the weather was alright until around 4 30pm when the weather started to be cloudy. It started to rain for sometime and the officials decided to put the race to a later time today, somewhere around, if I am not wrong, at 5: 40- 5:45pm when the 5000m was announced to be raced.

Because of the delay Jeevanesh had to warm up again. He was aiming for 15m 50sec to 16m 00sec. The delay caused him to get his adrenaline again and this can be disadvantageous as the athletes have seen one postponement of the event already.
Jeeva's dad was there to support the race. During the race, Jeeva was the first one out from the start and he did the first 1km in 3min 03sec, 7 sec faster than planned. I knew that if he does 3min 03sec for the 1st km time, I know that it will be difficult to get a faster time. However, he told me that he did this for a reason which will be mentioned in his interview tomorrow. It ended in a very tight finish till the end for both runners, with Jeevanesh emerging the victor.
Last year's 1st and second position was Kevin Goh and Lim Zhi Ming from RJC doing a time of 16m 50sec and 16min 58sec. 3rd was Oon Shui Kun from HCI with a time of 17m 03sec. In year 2009, Soh Rui Yong, Lim Zhi Ming and Kevin Goh from RJC completely dominated the race doing a time of 16min 38sec, 16m 51sec and 17m 10sec to come in 1st , 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
