NOTES: Hogueras en San Vicente Del Raspeig

So I just wanted to tell you a little about my week away from the computer. As you probably have read my computer had been bugging me and my dad installed win7 on it and uninstalled it again and I think about three times before he decided to return to good old Vista. But I think since Thursday evening everything is back up and running but there was too much excitement going on to spend the day indoors.

In my town we had a celebration in honour of patron saint of our town, Hogueras , which is literally translated into stake. It lasted about a whole week and well no sleep at all. They had put up one of the stands underneath my bedroom window and on the worst day they started partying and barbecuing at noon and ended the next morning at seven, so yeah we’re pretty exhausted even though we didn’t go to all of the festivities and those stands.

The party really started on Thursday when they put up the statues “Fallas”. There were some pretty nice stuff put up. They are really artist who put it all together.

It think my favourite one from the adults, was the one down the street, which also won first price.

And for the kids, the one I like best was this one. It is from the same group as the one above and it got the second price.

For more images of all the Fallas,  go here for the Adult Fallas and here for the Kids Fallas.

Starting from Friday morning, there was the wake up service at eight every day until Sunday, which was very interesting seeing as the stands went on till like five in the morning, three hours later they already come to wake you up. The wake up service was a brass band who went through all the streets to week everyone up.

In the evening there was the parade, in which all the Misses participated. Every year they choose a Miss to represent the town in these Hogueras here in town and in the towns around this one. There are two Misses elected, one adult and one child. Next to that there are all the other ones who participated in the run for the Miss crown, that also go in this parade as well as the two runner-ups. But the cutest, are of course the kids in the special dresses.

On Saturday there was the floral tribute to the patron saint, Santa Carmen.

So on Sunday, this happened. This is what they call “La Crema de las Hogueras” which was also the end of the festivities.

And this went all till all the Fallas were gone…

So that’s a bit in a nutshell what my week has been like. Like I said I’m still exhausted. It’s like I haven’t slept for over a year, so hopefully now that all the stands are being cleaned up hopefully I’ll get some night rest now.

NOTES: Poll closed

Thank you all for voting. Place number one and two were more music downloads and more interviews.

Now here’s a little catch…

You guys want more downloads, fine, but then there has got to be more activity. Since I’m still on the netbook, (please let me get my PC back soon), I’m putting this new rule into work start AUGUST 1ST

NO COMMENTS = NO UPDATES

We put our time in this blog, the least thing you can do is show some gratitude.

We also need someone to take care of the interviews, so if you’re interested, let me know.

OUT NOW: alan – Kaze ni Mukau Hana

I’m posting one of my favourite singles at the moment. Many might not agree with me but I love alan’s voice, especially her wailing. She’s an amazing artist

Author’s note: Little update on my PC status, well not sure to be honest. On Wednesday dad installed win7 and everything seemed to be fine and today when I got home from the beach, he was uninstalling everything and reinstalling win7 but with another method or something like that. And so for the most part of the evening I’ve been testing win7 and some little issues we’ve been able to fix at this point there is just one little issue we still haven’t been able to fix yet, which is that Digsby isn’t connecting onto twitter and I’ve tried on the netbook and there it does work, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen now. Dad is looking into it to see whether he can fix it and if not he’s talking about putting vista back on. So I don’t know: I’m currently on my netbook but like I said before I’ve got it so clean since it’s for school purpose only there isn’t any music on or anything. However I am going to try to get some promos done I’ve been getting, man I suck at this part of the blog, as long as it’s music posting I’m good, but promo stuff and reviews interviews, that’s so not my thing. That’s why I have crew lol but it seems like they pretty much bailed on me. So if you’re interested in helping me out, please do let me know.
That last part doesn’t count for Ashley of course, I’m really glad she’s here to help me out and I can’t wait to have her back because I miss her post, she even introduced me to music I had not heard of yet.

NOTES: Little Hiatus coming up

As you might have notice Ashley is on a little hiatus and I know it’s bad timing, but so will I.

Ashley will be back around the 12th of July. Personally I’m not sure when I’ll be back since my dad is going to reinstall everything on my computer since it’s acting really strange and he’s also going to upgrade it from Windows Vista to Windows 7 so that both my PC and my netbook got the same system, but I’m not sure how long it’ll take before everything will be back to normal. I still got my netbook but since there isn’t any music on it’s a bit hard to keep updating. I will schedule the upcoming albums to be posted in the next couple of days so that you don’t have to miss us entirely.

I’m currently working on two review: Chantelle Paige; The Beautiful Mind & Kayte Grace; Written On. I will try to get them posted asap but I’m thinking it’ll be for when my computer is reinstalled

NOTES: Coming july10

Just finished the custom cover for the Ben Adam’s “It’s Brutal Out There” Promo, which didn’t have a cover. I love this picture so I didn’t want to ruin it too much with the text.

NOTES: Hello Everyone

Hi~

I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Ashley, and I'm now part of the POP+Nation team. I'll be helping Katerina post music to share with everyone here.

So nice to meet you all and I'll see you around!

NOTES: blah + CONTRIBUTOR URGENT

I just wanted to let you all know my exams are over. I know I still have a week left on my hiatus, that’s because I’ve got a friend over from my home country visiting my here in Spain next week so I will be very little at home.

As you might have noticed I have re-uploaded some requested albums, and I might still put some more music up this week.

Now there is some other matter that I need to discuss with you guys.
I know there has been put up a notice before for another contributor with no response. But I’m trying again.

I NEED new contributors, I can not run this blog on my own. I know the people of the team have been busy, have been having exams just like me, but there’s just no way I will be able to do this on my own for much longer.

Everyone is welcome, I’m mostly looking for a music contributor, but if you want to help out as reviewer or interviewer you’re welcome too.

If I don’t find someone to help me out I will be forced to close the blog

NOTES: Join the POP+Nation Team

As you have noticed, we’ve revived POP+Nation. But we need your help…

We need more contributors to keep the blog alive. Everyone has got their personal life next to the blog, but the more people that are involved the more chance we have to keep on blogging.

We mostly need contributors who will do music posts, also another interviewer is welcome.

If you’re interested, you can find the POP+Nation email on top. Just send me an email. (Put Contributor in the subject line)

We can’t wait to have you at the POP+Nation Team.

NOTES: Thank you + temporary contributor

I just wanted to say a quick thanks for all the positive comments I've been getting over the last couple of days. It really means a lot to me.

Onto another matter, I am looking for a temporary contributor (if you like it you can stay of course), but I really need someone to fill in for me from the 24th of may on to the 13th of june cos I'm having exams and since I'm the only active contributor at the moment, if I don't find anyone for the blog will be on hiatus for the time being

NOTES: Promotion

(click banner to redirect)

Some of you might know this blog already but under its previous names The music Nexus and The Music Trinity. Both blogs were unfortunately removed by blogger. But Rich… he is back. He changed hosts and over the last couple of days he’s been putting his blog back up and it’s here! So make sure you visit!

NOTES: Notice to readers / downloaders

I had a very interesting conversation with Anthony from our Elite Affiliate LuckyStar Music and came to the conclusion that this “problem” I’ve been having is quiet coming in the music blogs.

So I decided to put this notice up. Over the last two weeks I’ve been trying to get POP+Nation back up and running after it died just because of this “problem”. This “problem” I’m talking about is the fact that people come on here, take whatever music they want and leave again, without commenting or saying thank you or anything.

For those few of you who do leave comments, I’m really grateful for those and this message isn’t intended for you in any way. It’s a wake up call really.

I always thought it was a shame that POP+Nation had died over the last couple of months and when BeE offered me to take it over, I was really excited and full of energy really to get this started again.

I love music; I love posting about it, but I need to know whether it’s appreciated. Like Anthony said, we feel alone. I see you download the music I post, but there’s not comment, I don’t even know whether you guys like the music I post or what you think about the new artists I introduce on the blog.

I’m currently trying to get an interview with a boy band who were really famous back in the day and who have made their comeback last year. But if there is no appreciation I don’t even know why I should bother.

I’m putting quiet some time in this blog, but it seems like it’s heading the wrong way again.

I’ve got exams coming up in about four weeks, so posting will definitely go slower, but if things don’t change once my exams are over, I don’t know how much more energy I’ll put in this blog. Summer’s coming up and if you guys don’t appreciate my work here, I suppose there are better things to do.

So at this moment, it’s up to you, right now, no comments, will mean no updates, simple and easy. And if this haven’t changed by summer, I might even decide to close this place.

I’m sorry for those who do participate and do comment, but things really need to change for this to be an interactive blog and be fun to do again.

NOTES: LuckyStar Music

Our Elite Affiliate LuckyStar Music is looking for new members. There are probably a lot of you out there who have been wondering how to get an invite… or maybe you haven’t heard about LuckyStar Music yet since it’s a private blog…

Well this is your chance. If you want an invite, email to Anthony and he will send you one.

LuckyStar Music is an amazing blog, so make sure you get your invite before invitations close down!

NOTES: Requests part 3

Ok guys this is going to be a though one, but I’m hoping someone out there can help me. I’m looking for this album “Faith, Hope &Love” by Sara Varga. It was released in 2008. But it’s no where to be found online, so go and dig in your record collection and please help us out in promoting this little lady

Notes: Requests

Two albums of the request list (Play – Under My Skn and Ghost vs Sanne – Hold This Girl) have been found, and I’ve updated the request list with two new albums. I’m looking for “It’s been a while” and “Photograph” both by Anna Sahlene.

I would be very grateful if you could help.

PS the Ghost VS Sanne album is coming up next

NOTES: Requests

I have added a feature on the sidebar with albums that I am looking for, if you can help me to find these I would be very grateful.
At this point we are not taking requests but I'm thinking about opening them up in summer once school is over
