Journalist Drives Through Fukushima Evacuation Zone (Video)

Fukushima, Japan - The Japanese government has issued the evacuation order on March 12 for the residents living within the 20 kilometer radius of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

Since then, residents have left their homes, and the "no man land" has been out of touch with the rest of the world.

A Japanese journalist, Tetsuo Jimbo, ventured through the evacuation zone last Sunday, and filed the following video report.

He says that, inside the evacuation zone, homes, building, roads and bridges, which were torn down by Tsunami, are left completely untouched, and the herd of cattle and pet dogs, left behind by the owners, wonders around the town while the radiation level remains far beyond legal limits.

US unprepared for Japan-style nuke accident: lawmaker

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US nuclear reactor near Baltimore would come dangerously close to meltdown within two days of a disaster on the scale of what happened in Japan three weeks ago, a lawmaker said, citing a draft report by the US nuclear watchdog.

At a hearing in the House of Representatives' energy and commerce committee Wednesday, Democratic Congresswoman Diana DeGette said a study conducted last year by the Nuclear Regulatory Committee (NRC) raised "grave questions about US preparedness to address reactor accidents."

The NRC modeled what would happen at two US nuclear power plants in the event of a major accident such as the one still unfolding at Fukushima in Japan three weeks after a massive earthquake and tsunami knocked out power that is critical to cooling the reactors' cores and "pools" of spent fuel rods.

One of the plants analyzed in the NRC report, Peach Bottom in Pennsylvania, is a GE Mark I boiling water reactor -- the same model as reactors at Fukushima.
The NRC modeled scenarios in which Peach Bottom -- which lies less than 40 miles from Baltimore, the largest city in Maryland with a population of 620,000 -- lost both mains power and back-up generators after an extreme event such as a quake, flood or fire.

In one simulation, the reactor was equipped with the latest technology, introduced after the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001 -- in which some say nuclear reactors in Pennsylvania or New Jersey may have been a target -- and in the other, it used older equipment and procedures.

Peach Bottom's reactor came perilously close to meltdown in the simulations.

"When a major earthquake, flood or fire was assumed to knock out all of the power of a nuclear reactor that is the same design as Fukushima and stands less than 40 miles from Baltimore -- well within the contamination zone the US called for in Japan -- that plant came less than an hour away from partial nuclear meltdown" in the NRC simulation, said DeGette.

Meltdown occurs when the core of a reactor overheats, allowing radiation to escape.

Congressman Henry Waxman said the NRC report "raises questions about whether our reactors may be as vulnerable as those in Fukushima," and said lawmakers "should be asking tough questions" about US nuclear safety in the light of the report's findings.

The United States has 104 operating nuclear reactors, 23 of which are the same Mark I model as the reactors that have come close to melting down in Japan.

France detects radioactive iodine in rainwater, milk

After the radioactive cloud emanating from Japan's stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant reached Europe last week, French authorities have detected radioactive iodine-131 in rainwater and milk.

CRIIRAD, an independent French research body on radioactivity, said it had detected radioactive iodine-131 in rainwater in south-eastern France.

A sample analysed on 28 March showed radioactivity levels of 8.5 becquerel.

In parallel testing, the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN), the national public institution monitoring nuclear and radiological risks, found iodine 131 in milk.

According to the institute, concentrations from a sample collected on 25 March showed levels of less than 0.11 becquerels per litre.

In normal times, no trace of iodine-131 should be detectable in rainwater or milk.

Seattle King5 and MyNorthWest.com Covers Simulation Showing Radiation On West Coast

Multiple mainstream media outlets have picked up the Norwegian Air Institutes simulation showing radiation on the west coast. This is a major development that shows that The Intel Hub (among many other wonderful alternative news outlets) was days ahead of the curve in reporting a simulation by credible scientists.

While the scientist who was quoted downplayed the possibility of radiation hitting Washington, the article does admit that the group of scientists who put together the simulation ARE credible.
“The animation was put together by scientists at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research. It’s a credible group that studies atmospheric patterns. Mynorthwest.com had University of Washington atmospheric science professor Dr. Dan Jaffe take a look at it. He’s considered one of the best at understanding trans-Pacific air patterns,” reported King 5.


The article that appeared on MyNorthWest.com labeled those who do not believe the governments radiation readings as conspiracy theorists.

“Conspiracy theorists believe the public isn’t being told the truth about the actual radiation risk and computer models like this prove that. They see those down-playing the risk as part of some giant government cover up.”

The sad reality is that their is an extremely high probability that the government is down playing the risks, in fact every single government ever involved with a major radiation release has hid the true dangers of the disaster from the public.

America and EU Agree: Raise Radiation Levels for Food

On March 28, 2011, I wrote an article entitled EPA to Help Mainstream Media Obscure The Truth About Radiation Exposure to Americans, in which I discussed the changes to the PAGs (Protective Action Guides) being proposed by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) that would raise the acceptable levels of radiation allowed in the environment, food, and even the general public themselves in the event of a nuclear emergency.

Interestingly enough, an article was published on April 3, 2011, by Alexander Higgins citing Kopp Online and Xander News, stating that a similar rule change was occurring in the European Union.

PAGs are policies and guidelines established by the EPA that guide the agency’s response in the event of a radioactive emergency. Specifically, PAGs deal with how the EPA should enforce laws such as the Clean Air and Water Act in relation to the disaster. Although PAGs had already been established by the EPA in 1992, the agency now plans to amend these guidelines to much higher levels of acceptable radiation.
No congressional approval is legally needed to makes such changes, because the EPA is a regulatory agency that sets “policy” and, although these types of agencies can be directed by congress or the president, they often form their own policies. All that is required when agencies such as the EPA wish to change their policy is that they first publish the proposed changes in the Federal Register for a designated period of “public comment.”

However, since public opinion is worth virtually nothing, once a proposed change is published in the Federal Register, it is well on its way to becoming new policy. This is unfortunate considering the fact that, according to PEER(Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, the new standards would result in a “nearly 1000-fold increase for exposure to strontium-90, a 3000 to 100,000-fold hike for exposure to iodine-131; and an almost 25,000 rise for exposure to radioactive nickel-63” in drinking water.

Which brings us to the new EU mirror of EPA policy.  Actually set as far back as 1989 (by amending standards set in 1987) for the purpose of responding to a nuclear or radiological emergency, the EU ordinance 297/2011 was implemented on March 25, 2011, which finally enacted the standards that were set back in 1989.

EU ordinance 297/2011 raises the Maximum Levels of radiation and radioactive isotopes for food and feed to rather serious levels. In some cases, such as the case of Cesium-134 and Cesium-137, the levels are actually twice the amount of previously acceptable levels. Many of these increases are allowed in products such as infant formula and baby foods.

It should be noted that the new EU changes only apply to food imported from Japan. The justification behind this is that in the event of a nuclear emergency the traditional levels of acceptable radiation should be ignored so as not to cause a food shortage as a result of legal constraints.


However, in this context, making such changes is a completely ridiculous decision. Although it is true that the radiation cloud from Fukushima has almost spread across the entire globe, food imported from Japan itself only makes up a small percentage of the EU food supply. As Thilo Bode and Christina Hacker stated, “These rules now to bring into force is absurd, because in Europe there are no nuclear emergency, and certainly no shortage of food.”[sic]  Indeed, it seems the best course of action would be to ban imports of Japanese food or, at the very least, to ban the importation of contaminated Japanese food.

Nevertheless, it all seems a bit too coincidental that both the American EPA and the European Union EC have decided to change their standards at the same time. It is almost enough to make one wonder if there is not a hidden agenda at work amidst this ordeal. Could it be that there is a coordinated effort to increase the levels of radiation the public is subjected to, while at the same time reduce the amount of alarm being expressed (to the extent that it is) over the potential health concerns?

Only time will tell whether or not there is an ulterior motive in regards to the new changes implemented by the EU and those proposed by the EPA. However, it is always good practice to assume that when you see different countries implementing the same policies at the same time, there is much more to the story than meets the eye.

'No Safe Levels' of Radiation in Japan

TOKYO, Apr 4, 2011 (IPS/Al Jazeera) - In a nuclear crisis that is becoming increasingly serious, Japan’s Nuclear Safety Agency confirmed that radioactive iodine-131 in seawater samples taken near the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power complex that was seriously damaged by the recent tsunami off the coast of Japan is 4,385 times the level permitted by law.

Airborne radiation near the plant has been measured at 4-times government limits.

Tokyo Electric Power Company, the company that operates the crippled plant, has begun releasing more than 11,000 tons of radioactive water that was used to cool the fuel rods into the ocean while it attempts to find the source of radioactive leaks. The water being released is about 100 times more radioactive than legal limits.

Meanwhile, water that is vastly more radioactive continues to gush into the ocean through a large crack in a six-foot deep pit at the nuclear plant. Over the weekend, workers at the plant used sawdust, shredded newspaper and diaper chemicals in a desperate attempt to plug the area, which failed. Water leaking from the pit is about 10,000 times more radioactive than water normally found at a nuclear plant

EPA to raise limits for radiation exposure while Canada turns off fallout detectors

The mass radioactive contamination of our planet is now under way thanks to the astonishing actions taking place at the Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan. As of last night, TEPCO announced it is releasing 10,000 tons of radioactive water directly into the Pacific Ocean. That 2.4 million gallons of planetary poison being dumped directly into the ocean.

This water is being released because they have run out of places to keep it on land. It's too deadly to transport anywhere else, and all the storage pools around Fukushima are already overflowing. So they're dumping it into the ocean, then calling it "safe" because they claim the ocean will "disperse" all the radiation and make it harmless.

But because there's more radioactive water being produced every day at Fukushima, this process of releasing radioactive water into the ocean could theoretically continue for years, easily making Fukushima the worst nuclear disaster in the history of our world.

Quick, fudge the numbers before anybody notices!

Fukushima, you see, is doing to the Pacific Ocean what BP and the Deepwater Horizon did to the Gulf of Mexico last summer. Except that in the case of Fukushima, that radiation doesn't just disappear with the help of millions of gallons of toxic chemicals. Nope, that radiation sticks around fordecades.

So what to do? If you're the United States Environment Protection Agency, there's only one option:  Declare radiation to be safe!

Fukushima: End of Week Three

The efforts at Fukushima are at best many months away from stabilization and years away from any sort of a final resolution. This crisis is going to be with all of us for a very long time with radioactive material continuing to escape from the complex into the environment adding a staggering amount of nuclear pollution into the world.

Things seem relatively calm at the moment with no more explosions to report but the headlines constantly stress the “risk of uncontrolled radiation” and this morning’s headline was, “Search for radiation leak turns desperate in Japan.” One of the chief concerns is that things might take a turn for the worse whereby radiation spikes to levels that prevent humans from getting close enough to perform meaningful operations and work at the nuclear site.

The other great concern are the hundreds of thousands if not millions of cases of cancer that will be caused in northern Japan if they do not bring this disaster under some kind of control. Hundreds of thousands of people are already slated sometime in the future to have cancer from this catastrophe but are they widening the evacuation to a necessary 200-or-more-kilometer area?


Meanwhile the all-clear sirens have sounded in America where scientists and everyone else pretend that the Pacific Ocean will protect them, but if that is not the case with mercury emissions from China and India why would anyone think it would be the case with radioactive particles? It has been estimated that 30 percent of California’s pollution comes from the other side of the Pacific! Fumes and dust from industrial factories, coal-powered energy plants and privatelyo wned cars in China are crossing the ocean and polluting the air in the United States.

“There are times when it covers the entire Pacific Ocean basin like a ribbon bent back and forth,” said atmospheric physicist V. Ramanathan at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California. Professor Dan Jaffe, an atmospheric scientist at the University of Washington said, “So far, pollution has spread in the air around the world. There is no place you can put away your pollution anymore.” But we can always add to it and that is what this disaster in Japan is doing.

Health Food Stores More Dangerous Than Nuclear Radiation

The mainstream press is not wasting any opportunity and are dragging their experts out to center stage telling us not to worry and that there is no reason to load up on supplements. I kid you not—some are going as far as telling the public that the remedies people are reaching for in their health food stores could be more dangerous than the radiation itself, which of course is the most stupid thing I have ever heard.

Dr.William McBride, professor of radiation oncology at theUCLA Cancer Center was brought out of his radioactive nest by the LA Times to tell people not to bother to do anything to protect themselves.

“There’s no evidence, he says, that anything at a health food store or grocery store could really protect you from nuclear fallout. And in some cases, he warns, the remedies could be more dangerous than the radiation,” published the Times.

He’s all in favor of antioxidant-rich diets and the occasional bit of seaweed. But he sees no reason for anyone in the U.S.—or even Tokyo—to change their diets or take supplements to protect themselves from radiation. Even if the radiation levels intensified, McBride wouldn’t recommend nutritional defenses, reported the Times. We do know that doctors like McBride are all too willing to turn nuclear radiation on their patients to both diagnose and treat diseases, so we understand their need to consider dangerous radiation as safe.

This was all said in the Times article despite the finding of a 2009 study of pilots—a group of people who get a fair amount of cosmic radiation on the job—thatfound that those who took antioxidant supplements had less DNA damage than those who didn’t. And last week, researchers at the annual Society of Interventional Radiology meeting in Chicago presented a study suggesting that a proprietary antioxidant blend prevented DNA damage caused by CT scans.

Sergei Belyakov, an associate professor at a Ukrainian university in 1986, first sensed something was wrong at Chernobyl while he was on a fishing holiday and noticed that water levels in the Dnipro River were plummeting; a sign that dams upstream had been closed. It was weeks before Soviet authorities acknowledged the gravity of the crisis. Belyakov volunteered to be a jumper at the plant where workers had to leave when they were exposed to 2 Roentgen of radiation per day, about 240 millisieverts. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says a dose of 500 millisieverts would cause nausea and 1,000 would cause hemorrhage.

After sustaining 25 Roentgen of radiation, the Chernobyl workers were sent home. Many have since died prematurely. Belyakov says he knows of at least five other men who worked there who died within 10 years. But as many of them reach their mid-50s, it is hard to isolate the Chernobyl radiation as a cause of death, he said. “The action of radiation on a living organism is extremely different—there are people who can sustain that very well; unfortunately there are people who get just a pinch of what a normal human being would get and it would be lethal.”

Contemporary medicine and the world’s medical officials
do not want people to discover what individual differences
lead to greater resistance to nuclear contamination.

There is not one leader or scientist in the world who is getting up on the world stage to tell people what is happening. Radiation coming from Japan is entering the environment on top of a vast field of pollution. When it comes to mercury we have toxic clouds of it and mercury injections for children and anyone else who gets their yearly toxic dose of mercury in their flu vaccine. And we have crazy dentists who put mercury into our mouths only inches away from our brains.

But all of this is safe, so there is nothing to worry about according to health officials. Dr. Garry F. Gordon says, “At low (radiation) doses, the body’s cells are usually able to repair any damage fairly rapidly, and any cells that die due to overexposure are replaced. But if our bodies are already overburdened with toxins and heavy metals that are keeping our cells from functioning well, any amount of radiation is then a bigger problem. There is a lot more pollution blowing over from Asia than there is radiation.”

Most experts and officials are either ignorant about low level toxicity or they simply are not being honest about it. They are even more ignorant about what happens when different toxicities combine. Dr. Boyd Haley of Kentucky University has been shouting out for a decade about what happens when you load up a vaccine with organic mercury and aluminum combined. Yes, when mixed together they are about 100 times more toxic than if given apart. The science of low level combining toxicityhas to take center stage, not just because of the first out-of-control nuclear plant in history, but also because most of us already live with heavy toxic exposure.

When it comes to this nuclear accident and the already toxic soup we have made of our environmentthe medical establishment does not want to discuss the vast nutritional deficiencies that are evident in the public and how that makes people more vulnerable to radiation sickness. When we consider that over 90 percent of the public is deficient in iodine and an almost equal percentage in magnesium we can assume the worst when it comes to populations’ vulnerability to nuclear and heavy metal contamination.

Nuclear Disaster’s Consequences Just Beginning

Countries in the developed world have less and less ability
to bounce back from events such as Japan’s
earthquake/tsunami/nuclear and now economic devastation.

Before we get too relaxed, let’s take a moment to learn what a nuclear meltdown is: A meltdown is the severe overheating of the core of a nuclear reactor that results in either the partial or full liquefaction of its uranium fuel and supporting metal lattice, at times with the atmospheric release of deadly radiation. Partial meltdowns usually strike a core’s middle regions instead of the edge, where temperatures are typically lower.

The main meltdowns of the past at civilian plants were Three Mile Island in 1979, the St.-Laurent reactor in France in 1980, and Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986. No mention is made in the mainstream of huge nuclear disasters in Russia back in the early days or of how this nuclear material was spread around again during last summer’s fires.

Tyler Durden is already publishing that a Japanese economic collapse has been confirmed by a PMI plunge from 52.9 to 46.4 showing that the Japanese economy is already being devastated. Fast-forward your time machine into the days and weeks and months ahead. Nobody knows exactly what is going to happen except that food prices will be screaming up and the radioactive count of crops and milk will slowly increase. The press is urging us all to relax but the following graph tells a different story!

Medical Consequences

Dr. Chris Busby, the scientist who revealed increased radiation levels over England after the last attack on Iraq, has made a link between everyday radiation exposure and a range of modern ailments: “There have been tremendous increases in diseases resulting from the breakdown of the immune system in the last 20 years:diabetes, asthma, AIDS and others which may have an immune-system link, such as MS and ME. A whole spectrum of neurological conditions of unknown origin has developed.”

Dr. Michio Kaku has explained that radiation travels in food as well as through the air. He is one of many though who believe that the radiation from Japan is diluted by the time it reaches the United States so it isn’t "much of a concern." He explained that following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, radiation circled the earth 3 times, and that we all have a piece of Chernobyl inside of us. Unlike Dr. Busby Dr. Kaku thinks little about the increased incidents of diabetes and many other diseases stemming from low level exposure. Perhaps Dr. Boyd Haley can set him straight on the dangers of low level exposures.

Personally I think Kaku is one of the smartest people I have ever listened to but he does not seem understand much about medicine and the consequences of low level radiation and heavy metal exposure. He is a physicist after all so we can excuse him but not the world’s medical officials who seem to be deaf and certainly dumb in the face of the huge toxic threat facing humanity.

Special Note: I wonder if anyone understands what I am doing and how I write. I am not like those highly paid guys who work for the richest people in the world, the ones who own the media, etc. There are highly trained specialty writers who know how to put a twist on the news, a slant, a manipulated projection. Well what I do—for low pay—is just the opposite. First I unplug their twisting and turnings and then I project the audiences’ consciousness as hard as I can in the direction of truth based on a full revelation of information. Everyone reveals themselves when they open up their mouth or put down their thoughts into written text and it is just as important what a person says as what they do not say. I tend to say too much but mostly because there is so much to say that is routinely left out by others.

Rainwater in California Measured 181 Times The Acceptable Limit For Drinking Water

Officials at UC Berkeley have tested rain water that turned out to be 181 times the limit for drinking water. This is happening at the same time that our FAKE corporate media is telling the sheeple that there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

“As shown in the graph below, published by UC Berkeley, Iodine-131 peaked at 20.1 becquerels per liter, a measure of radioactivity, on the roof of Etcheverry Hall during heavy rains a week ago. The federal maximum level of iodine-131 allowed in drinking water is 0.111 becquerels per liter,” The Bay Citizen reported Saturday.

The Norwegian Institute of Air Research is also predicting that moderate levels of radiation will hit the U.S. west coast on April 5th and 6th.


Meanwhile in Japan, 250 people protested TEPCO’s criminal cover up of one of the largest nuclear disasters in history.

Demonstrators included longtime anti-nuclear activists, rappers, drummers, a guitarist and a female impersonator holding aloft a sign telling Japan’s government, “Shame on you.” They marched from TEPCO’s headquarters to the building that houses Japan’s Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Industry, about four blocks away, reported CNN.

The lack of of experts speaking the truth about this disaster is startling and without the few that are, the people of the world would be left to the mercy of their respective governments who have a long history of covering up disasters involving radiation.

Arnie Gunderson of Fairewinds Associates and a nuclear expert is one of the few experts speaking that is speaking the truth. He reported today that evidence shows that a periodic chain reaction is occurring at Fukushima Unit 1.



It is clear that the Japanese government and in turn the American government have continually lied about the situation and cannot be trusted whatsoever. While a deadly radioactive cloud sweeping through the U.S. remains highly unlikely, the long term effects of this disaster could be horrific.

I have had countless calls asking for more suggestions on how we can support our already compromised immune systems, as we are exposed daily to untold levels of radioactive elements that are now traveling world-wide.Due to our already highly polluted air, we now have a multi-pronged attack on our immune systems. We were never meant to be sponges for an assortment of highly hazardous and unregulated chemicals and nano-technology, genetically modified organisms, aerosolized Chemtrails, pesticides, and artificial and poisonous additives in our food supply. This has been going on for most of the twentieth century; and now laws, in place for decades to protect us, have been gutted. Secret political agendas and corporate profits continue to take priority over our well-being and safety. This has a long history in our corporate consumer-oriented society. Here is a bit of background: Unstable atoms give off energy as their nuclei spontaneously decay. When this energy is a radioactive element [and there are many, each with a different half life] and sufficiently strong enough to actually dislodge electrons from other molecules or other atoms in its path, it actually can damage or kill any living tissue. This is called ionizing radiation; and it is this that is so deadly –especially for some radioactive elements that have a long half-life (such as Plutonium-239 with 24,000 years, and Uranium-235 with 700-million years). These and many more radioactive elements are continuing to come across the Pacific and hitting everything in North America, and then traveling to Europe and beyond. Nothing is even remotely fixed at the Fukushima Nuclear Reactors facility. On March 28, Florida and the Carolinas were reported to have rainwater and air with radioactive Iodine-131 [with a half life of 802 days]; and officials said: “there was no current threat to public safety.”(1) Another report on plutonium in the soil at Fukushima is here.

Pouring sea water on the damaged reactors is worthless. The radioactive rods are so hot that the water turns to steam. Why has this not been reported? PLUS there are more than 600,000 spent fuel rods that have been collecting on the Fukushima Nuclear Reactor site for 40 years. This is a radioactive plague being unleashed! How many more weeks will this cover-up go on, while both the Japanese public and the rest of us are not being told the truth?

A 100-year battle awaits Fukushima while suicide workers are needed to keep up the rescue efforts

The unfolding of the Fukushima catastrophe continues to worsen. Here are today's most important developments:

• A nuclear expert is now warning that it will take 50 to 100 years before the spent nuclear rods at Fukushima will cool enough to be removed from the site. In the mean time, Japan must keep pouring water on the fuel, and that creates highly radioactive water that's being flushed directly into the ocean. So now we're looking at the possibility of a century-long radiation leak (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/04/01/3179487.htm).

• The groundwater underneath the Fukushima nuclear power facility is now showing 10,000 times the level of radiation normally allowed by government authorities. • You've probably already heard that there have been efforts to use robots to help solve the Fukushima crisis, but those efforts have failed. Then again, who needs robots when you can just pay humans to do the same deadly work? Reuters is now reporting that a U.S. recruiting company is signing up U.S. workers to go to Fukushima and work on-site there as part of the crew that's trying to save the reactors (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/exclusive-wanted-u-workers-crippled-japan-nuke-plant-20110331-165506-832.html). Why would anyone agree to do such a thing? Because they're being promised extra pay, if you can believe that.
