Celebrity of the Week: Helena Bonham Carter

I adore Helena, largely for her fashion choices (I mean, c'mon -- it's amazing!) but even more so for the diverse roles she can play. I've seen bits of her acting in 'The King's Speech' which looks pretty suburb and she obviously does a great role as Bellatrix in the Harry Potter franchise, and I really loved her performance in 'Sweeny Todd' with Johnny Depp, she was born for that role though. I was watching an interview of her and she continuously cracked me up with her hilarious way of speaking and quick wit, she's just fantastic and deserves much adoration.

Important Announcement: Celebrity of the Week will be taking a small break for the next few weeks or so. Thank you for reading!

Celebrity of the Week: Jamie Pineda

(For last week...) Jamie Pineda is the current singer of Sweetbox, she took over after Jade Valerie (Villalon) departed in 2007 and brought a fresh, powerful exotic sounding voice with her. Not only is she beautiful(!!!) and continued the legacy of a well-established group with grace, from watching some interviews it's obvious Jamie is also incredibly grateful for the opportunity she's been given. She totally deserves it though, check out Jamie singing Christina Aguilera's song 'Hurt' in the video below. It's fantastic! I love her and I can't wait for her second album because her debut, 'The Next Generation', blew me away!

Celebrity of the Week: Willow Smith

As usual, I'm a week behind, so this is last week's 'Celebrity of the Week'. I never really cared about Will Smith or his family, until Willow came along! I love her song, as sad as it is, 'Whip My Hair', it's catchy, repetitious and therefore very catchy. "I whip my hair back and forth, I whip my hair back and forth..." She has a cute little Rihanna-esque vibe about her and, god knows who dresses her, but her look's pretty cute. However, she is 9 (I think) so hopefully she's not being forced into this or anything, which wouldn't surprise me considering both of Will's kids are now celebrities.

Celebrity of the Week: Autumn Reeser

Autumn Reeser is best known for playing Taylor Townsend, a quirky character on the FOX show 'The O.C.', also known as probably my favourite show ever. I cannot get enough of it, and have watched Season 3 and am working through season 4, almost half-way now, just since school finished in late November!

Taylor's character has really grown on me this time around, which is probably the third time (I can not get enough of it) and it's dawned on my just how stunning and beautiful Autumn is, and how great of an actress she is is wicked. I love that she potentially ended up with Ryan at the end of the series, although it wasn't indefinitely given away, it was strongly hinted at though with a knowing look between the two at Seth and Summer's wedding. Opps, spoiler alert. Well, not really -- it finished at the end of 2007, your fault if you still haven't caught up.

Autumn doesn't seem to have done anything too successfully, that I know of since 'The O.C.' which is a shame. I know she had a role in the show 'Entourage' for a season or two but can't say I watched it, not such a few fan, and she did an episode of 'The Ghost Whisperer' with Jennifer Love-Hewitt which was pretty cool, although that show really needed to end earlier than it did, 5 seasons for a show that pretty much just had the same repeated storylines every episode but with an even weirder twist, was quite... well, boring.

Anyway, I'm quite literally off to watch 'The O.C.' now, I have no life.

Celebrity of the Week: Anne Hathaway

(This is for last week...) Who doesn't love Anne Hathaway? She's got that awkward-beauty (I mean that in a nice way, like Mischa Barton kind-of-thing not immediately obvious) and a great down-to-earth personality. I love her and think she's a terrific actress, my favourite role of hers would be... OK this is very gay of me, but I thought she was really good in 'Brokeback Mountain'! I like how she played her character over twenty years of supposed ageing and it was just believable and powerful how she was able to hold the accent and certain characteristics but also show character development, all in only a few short scenes. The woman in that movie were great, although so were the men, I must do Heath Ledger as a celeb of the week some day soon! So sad that he died, he was definitely one of the greater, most promising actors. R.I.P.

Anyway, Anne is lovely and I enjoyed her interview with Chelsea Handler on 'Chelsea Lately's "Big Interview Special" with Christina Aguilera and Gwenyth Paltrow. She was definitely the stand-out interview of the trio and had a keen wit and sense-of-humour that matched Chelsea's, which happens less than you'd think! Most of the comedians on the round-table (assuming you watch 'Chelsea Lately' on E!, 10.30pm week-nights in New Zealand) can't even hold their own so it was amazing Anne, as a special guest, was. Perhaps she was filled in and prepped well before hand, who knows. Regardless, I love her and after watching her amusing performance in 'Bride Wars', I am completely sold on her being this week last week's celebrity of the week!

Celebrity of the Week: Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris

I have already done Crystal Harris as a 'Celebrity of the Week' before, but this time it's her and Hugh Hefner, her newly engaged fiancĂ© and founder of Playboy magazine and, as a result of this, the entire international brand. (I felt like I was writing a History essay with my 'as a result of this' analytical bit, gosh I'm a good writer *wink wink*)

Anyway, when Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, Hef's former girlfriends and stars of the E! show 'Girls of the Playboy Mansion', left him and I discovered Crystal and the twins, I was immediately appalled as at first glance they just looked like a bunch of gold-digging hos quickly getting in on Hef while he was single. I was right about the twins, but not Crystal!

She is genuinely sweet, fun-loving and although I admit I don't know as much about her as Hef's former main squeeze, Holly, she does seem like she's in it not just for the life style and fame, although no one's going to pretend it's not a massive draw.

I wish these two all the best and I hope, for her sake, Hef has plenty of years left in him! Although at 85, one can only be so hopeful. It's definitely bizarre, but it's not my place to judge and anyone that thinks they deserve an opinion is wrong. Good luck Crystal and Hef!

Celebrity of the Week: Scarlett Johansson

I was sad when I heard that Scarlett Johansson was divorcing her husband Ryan Reynolds because I always thought they were such a great Hollywood couple, perhaps a little B-List, but lately they could both be considered A-List, especially Ryan after being named "People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive (of the year)" which for some reason is a huge deal, but really, they just choose someone incredibly famous - I'm sure there's better out there, somewhere...

Anyway, Scarlett is a good actress and I especially loved her in the Sci-Fi flick 'The Island' it was just good, and she was good, and she's a beautiful actress and even has released some music albums, god knows why and they're a bit different, but they're OK and I commend her on her efforts. However, I think she should probably stick with acting and modelling, cause those two things are definitely what she's good for. I forget who she models for, Dolce and Gabbana I think, but some big name and she does old-fashion pin-up looks which look amazing in her. I have yet to see her cameo in 'Iron Man 2', but I love action films do keen to see it. (Plus Marvel is like, my favourite).

Celebrity of the Week: Emma Stone

I saw 'Easy A' on Friday and although it wasn't the best movie, I thought Emma Stone was a really good actress and I must admit there were some funny moments in the film, mostly were her singing birthday card at the start of the movie. I literally laughed which does not happen to me in movies.

Anyway, she's really pretty and funny and kind of a unique look, not boring straight hair - it looks natural and she's a red-head which makes her especially beautiful, she's got a Nicole Kidman (back in 'Moulin Rouge' days) kind of look, except a little girlier and girl-next-door-y which is good in her case! I like her voice cause it's a bit husky, Lindsay Lohan-esque... but better. Although I don't recommend 'Easy A', I do recommend Emma Stone and will be keeping an eye out for her in future movies!

Celebrity of the Week: Rachel Bilson

Well the facts of life are that I am obsessed with the TV show "The O.C.", even though it was cancelled in 2006/2007 or whatever. It only had four seasons! Although every time I say that I feel a little better knowing that all, except season 4, were exceptionally long with like 25, 50 minute episodes each. I think season 4 had only 15 episodes, but a gallant effort regardless! This series was Rachel's big break and she hasn't exactly done a lot since, the only thing I can think of, off the top of my head, is she was the main guy's boyfriend in "Jumper", that lame action movie with the teleporting guy.

Still, Rachel seems to be in request though because there's always new red carpet pictures of her being released and the occasional paparazzi pictures, usually analyzing her fashion because, let's face it, she's cute and what kind of style-savvy chick wouldn't want to emulate her looks? I'm not sure if she's just fame-whoring by always being at premiers when she doesn't really have anything to promote or if she genuinely is invited and wanted to bring publicity, eitherway, she gets photographed so I guess it works out for both ends.

Love Rachel, miss seeing her as Summer, the bubbly & cute environmentalist! (Well, in season 4 anyway, not so much beforehand.) If I was ever to advise Oprah on how to spend her millions billions, I would strongly suggest she offer everyone on the cast of "The O.C." a lot of money and get them all together to make "The O.C. - The Movie". My life would be complete.

Celebrity of the Week: Emma Watson

After seeing 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' the other day, my interest in the franchise has since redeveloped and I now remembered why I love Emma Watson, she's amazing! I love how she's a star of these enormously successful movies and must be incredibly rich and is definitely super famous, but she seems like she's got it all pretty together and obviously is planning ahead with her life by going to university and such, which is pretty rare in Hollywood by the sounds of things. I guess the thing is, she's not a Hollywood girl, she's British, and English tend to be a lot more sensible if you ask me. Although Madonna's a bit of a worry and not everyone would say that Jodie Marsh 'has it together', British celebs do all seem to be a bit more down to earth but not sure why I get that impression. Possibly just because there's less coverage of English celebs, but who knows -- all I do know is that Emma seems to be keeping out of the limelight nicely and just doing her acting bit and attending the premieres in pretty dresses (such as the one shown, which is from the premiere of the latest film).

She doesn't seem, to me, that she'll stick with an acting career as her number one priority ever, I'm guessing she just had an interest but kind of got stuck making all the movies, and who wouldn't after their success. She was probably contractually signed into do them, besides, who the christ wouldn't, she's made millions! Anyway, forgot what I was actually going to talk about but... yeah, she's wicked.

Celebrity of the Week: Jennifer Aniston

Lots of people must love Jennifer Aniston, for she is featured in almost every magazine, every week! She's definitely an A-Lister and, even though she doesn't seem to do much, she's beautiful and her new blonde highlights look pretty good. I'm pretty sure she's had some plastic surgery at some stage over the last few years cause she looks pretty different compared to how she did back when 'Friends' was still on.

Anyway, I get a bit sick of the tabloids constantly using her as their meal ticket, she's not doing anything to harm anyone and, even if she does love the limelight (which seems to), she probably should be left alone a bit. She's always great and seems pretty cheerful which is good, because she should be. She lives a fucking fantastic life, single or not.

Celebrity of the Week: Miley Cyrus

So I got Miley's latest album "Can't Be Tamed" expecting a pretty dismal overly rock, Pop-Album, but it actually turned out to be really good! I know Miley gets cut a lot of slack for her, alleged "wild antics", but really, she's just growing up. I hate when headlines about her are things like "Is Miley's new video too sexy?", obviously it's not too sexy if she did it, otherwise she wouldn't have. She's 17, not stupid. I'm sure her career is heavily controlled, or has been, but it seems like she's coming into her own a bit more - she's obviously not a typical Hollywood girl and I'm sad to hear about her parents filing for divorce, but they seemed an odd couple and with two stars in the family, Miley especially, things have got to be pretty tricky.

Also, I was thinking about this morning - when you have hundreds of millions of dollars before you're even 18... what sort of goals does that leave you in life? Release clothing lines, fragrances, books etc. Miley's already done it all, and it's all trivial meaningless stuff. Sure she could throw herself whole-heartedly but it's all pretty meaningless. I hope she doesn't spiral out of control but I feel like she will, she just has too much, too early and the life of a child star (after watching the numerous E! channel specials on the matter) always seems to be difficult.

Anyway, I wish Miley all the best and highly recommend her latest album. (Although the latest single, "Who Owns My Heart" is one of my least faves on the album.)

Celebrity of the Week: Demi Moore

Any Hollywood star that looks like this at her age, almost 48, and denies having had any plastic surgery is obviously going to be one of my celebrities of the week purely because of the comic value of this. She has less wrinkles than I did when I was born and no forehead remains that perfect once they're past 35, not even you Nicole Kidman. Actually, especially you Nicole Kidman.

I honestly haven't really seen anything Demi's been in except for "Charlies Angels: Full Throttle" which had a crap story, but I loved in anyhow and she had a bangin' bikini bod' in the film, easily rivaling much younger Cameron Diaz. Anyway, she's pretty and I like this picture of her from the 2010 Oscar Red Carpet in L.A., nicely pulled off nude dress and the black hair looks good with it. Maybe I should be a fashionista, except I don't know the first thing about fashion. The only thing over $30 that I'm wearing right now is my underwear, everything else I got for $25 or less. What... a good bargain hunter. (really, I'm just cheap.)

Celebrity of the Week: Taylor Swift

I'm not obsessed with Taylor Swift like I am with like, Lady Gaga, but I still really like her and haven't really ever hated any of her music, although for various reasons I got put off her first album, I'm really liking the singles for hew new album 'Speak Now', with the debut "Mine" being really catchy - I like her quite a lot!

She's kind of dorky, yet beautiful, which is an aqquired skill and she seems genuinely grateful for her success and appreciates her fans so that is a good thing to see. Hate how Madonna, Mariah Carey etc. are so unthankful for their continued success. I wish Taylor all the best in her career, I'm betting she'll be around for a while as I've never really met anyone that totally detested her or her songs.

Celebrity of the Week: Lena and Yulia of t.A.T.u.

I have always loved Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova, the Russian duo that form the band t.A.T.u. Their album "200km/h in the Wrong Lane" was the first album I ever owned in my entire life and I was obsessed with their debut single "All The Things She Said", which has gone on to become an internationally acclaimed gay anthem as a result of the lyrics and the pair's supposed lesbian relationship.

However, after releasing two albums (the second being "Dangerous & Moving") it was revealed they were actually not lesbians and that it was a marketing ploy, however the girls later went on to admit they regretted lying to their fans and still wished to uphold the messages sung about as it was still something they believed in.

They also were the focus of a film starring Mischa Barton (The O.C.) called "Finding t.A.T.u." and I'm not too sure if it's been officially released yet. All I know is that Mischa flunked on the premiere and it got no press. Sad stuff, love t.A.T.u.!

Celebrity of the Week: Sonny Bill Williams

This week's celebrity of the week is New Zealand's most recently signed All Black (world cup rugby team), Sonny Bill Williams! He's one of those New Zealand celebrity sports stars like Daniel Carter who become known for their personal lives and looks more than for their sporting capabilities that launched them into the spotlight in the first place.

I don't really care for rugby, but it's pretty big news in new Zealand and I need to broaden my horizons on celebs to do this weekly thing on or else I might find that I run out pretty fast! Besides, I like to do New Zealand celebrities. With the big Hollywood ones, I always need to consult back to remember if I've done someone before, fortunately, I have plenty to go before I will really have to do serious check-ups.

P.S. After googling him to get a picture, I now have a new target of what I want need my body to look like. Should be totally easy I'm sure.

(Like last week's COTW, this is for last week also. Keep forgetting.)

Celebrity of the Week: Kelly Osbourne (@MissKellyO)

(This is for last week, forgot I hadn't done it.)

Kelly Osbourne has been looking so amazing lately and I love her for it! For ages she looked overweight, unhappy and just... well, gross, and I was too vain, unfortunately, to look past it. However, now that I see that she actually is a really cool chick underneath it all and I love her on E!'s new weekly "Fashion Police" show along with the main host Joan Rivers, who I also adore.

I never really liked Kelly on her family's show "The Osbournes" and that's probably because it was just so unglamorous for a celebrity reality show and the family just didn't looked good. However, look at Kelly now! The photo above (that I admittedly just stole from some poor site and hence, am 'stealing' their bandwidth - sorry!) is a fairly recent shot and, although not the nicest shot and outfit, is does show how trim and good she's looking! Remember, she did used to be a fat goth.

Celebrity of the Week: Suzanne Paul (@suzannepaulnz)

Suzanne Paul is a British-born television personality and celebrity in New Zealand, who became famous for her roles as an infomercial hostess and television presenter. (I lifted that straight off Wikipedia) She was also a winner of one of New Zealand's "Dancing with the Stars" seasons and is one of New Zealand's few nationwide entertainment celebrities, as most are sports stars, also known as people I don't really care people, although the Olympians are pretty cool. It's just not my deal.

Suzanne's great and I love that she called her book "But Wait, There's More" because it's a line she used to use in infomercials and also applies to her own life because for a while she suffered some financial troubles and was deemed to have been doomed, but she clawed her way back to success and she's deserved it - she's obviously worked extremely hard to get where she is today.

You can follow her on Twitter by clicking here.

Celebrity of the Week: Edison Chen

Edison Chen is an actor from Hong Kong, who starred in "The Grudge 2" and also had a small stint in "The Dark Knight". I had serious obsessions with the Grudge franchise a few years back and Edison was pretty much the male lead in the show, so therefore here he is as a diverse male and celebrity of colour. How open-minded and culturally aware am I? ("Very", if you were straining for the right word.)

Edison had a sex scandal that caused a huge meltdown in Hong Kong a wee-while ago because, while getting his laptop serviced, the servicemen found and released hundreds of photos and videos of him getting it on with other famous & well respected Chinese actresses, many of which are only a google search away. I happen to love sex scandals and one day look forward to having my own, so high-five to you Edison!

Unfortunately no one in Hong Kong thought similar and his career was kinda destroyed. He should move to America, because half the celebrities spawned from a sex scandal. (Paris and Kim, I love you dearly, but you know it's true.)

Celebrity of the Week: Caitlin Stasey

Caitlin Stasey is an Australian actress, best none for starring in the show "Neighbours" but the reason she's my Celebrity of the Week is because she is the star of my new favourite movie ever. "Tomorrow When The War Began" is literally the best movie I have seen in so long, possibly ever, although I will admit this is because my attachments to the books in which it's based on. John Marsden, who wrote them, is amazing and this is by far my favourite book series of all time! Much preferred over Harry Potter and such, sorry, although Lord of the Rings does come close ish... but only because of some of the romantic elements of it.
The Tomorrow series trumps them all though and I reckon Caitlin did an amazing job as Ellie Linton, the main character, and the entire cast was amazing and really fucking sexy! Robyn had a bit of a weird portrayal as she was supposed to be quite fit and sort of religious, but not too bad - but in the film she's a bit chubby, short and PAINFULLY religious and annoying and it just drove me insane. However, she turned out to be a good reinvented character and I loved it! Really amazing movie and FAR better than "Inception" which, although good, was overrated.

I LOVE THE TOMORROW SERIES! GO AND SEE THIS MOVIE!
